This course will be available for 90 days after registration is completed.

About this Course:

Since 2020, our world has experienced a variety of disasters and critical incidents encouraging revisions, innovations and expanded applications in both EMDR R-TEP and G-TEP. In this on demand 3-hour webinar, the 8 phases of EMDR Recent Traumatic Episode Protocol (R-TEP) will be reviewed, highlighting recent innovations.

Building upon R-TEP, the EMDR Group Traumatic Episode Protocol (G-TEP) will follow. New and expanded applications of both protocols will be discussed based on recent peer reviewed research. Participants will benefit from frequent video clips demonstrating the phases and steps as well as nuanced strategies of navigating challenging moments that may arrive in treatment.

While both R-TEP and G-TEP were originally developed for application in early intervention situations, the design features of these protocols lend them to broader use. This course serves as an update on recent innovations and is also intended for therapists who are faced with an urgent clinical situation thus desiring a refresher quickly.

Therapists who have not taken the full training in both protocols are advised to do so as a prerequisite.

About The Presenters

Reg Morrow Robinson has been a practicing therapist for 30 years. She has worked with crisis over her career, was introduced to EMDR therapy in 1995, became an EMDRIA consultant in 2000 and a basic trainer in 2008. In 2012 she became an EMDR R-TEP/G-TEP trainer. Reg currently serves on the leadership team of the national Community Response Network assisting TRN’s, TRT’s & CRN’s to create & stabilize their organizations. . Reg is passionate about building community capacity to respond to manmade and natural disasters plus applying EMDR in a time efficient manner to anyone impacted by an overwhelming experience.

Bill Brislin was fortunate to have been trained in the Recent Traumatic Episodes Protocol (R-TEP) in 2010 by its developers, Elan Shapiro & Brurit Laub. He became an approved trainer in 2016. In collaboration with Reg Morrow Robinson, he presented the first Group Traumatic Episodes Protocol (G-TEP) in the United States and to date, has conducted over 40 R-TEP/G-TEP trainings. Bill responded to the Orlando Pulse Nightclub mass shooting as a volunteer clinician and conducted a quickly arranged R-TEP/G-TEP training. Many of the other trainings he’s conducted have been in response to gun violence and other disasters, including many trainings delivered to Ukrainian therapists subsequent to the invasion of that country by Russia.Along with Maria Masciandaro, Bill coauthored a chapter, Group Resource Enhancement Protocol, published in “EMDR Group Therapy” (2024). He has developed a one-hour on-demand training on this protocol.
