About this Certification Series:

This Consultation for Certification series is led by EMDRIA-Approved EMDR Trainer Consultant Linda Mixon and is designed primarily for clinicians who work with Veterans and First Responders. The goal is to help clinicians meet criteria for EMDRIA Certification in EMDR while also developing specialized skills for effective delivery of EMDR within the Veteran and First Responder populations.

Meet Your Consultant, Linda Mixon:

Linda has 20+ years post masters experience in the behavioral health and work productivity industry with private practice, community mental health agencies, Department of Defense, and Veterans Administration. She became an EMDRIA-Approved Consultant in 2016 and Basic Training Facilitator in 2017. Linda specializes in working with Veterans, First Responders, and other professionals with the highest level security clearances. Additionally, her experience includes but is not limited to working with at risk youth, seriously mentally ill, developmental trauma, the full spectrum of dissociative disorder, exploited and trafficked survivors, complicated grief with families after suicide, and victims of violent crimes.

What to Expect:

In Consultation for Certification, we work together to achieve proficiency in all phases of the EMDR model, refine case conceptualization and treatment planning, and increase your capacity to provide comprehensive treatment for simple to moderately complex cases while maintaining high fidelity to the EMDR Therapy Standard Protocol. Video of your work with clients will be required.

The group is meant to fulfill the 10 hours of group consultation toward Certification allowed by EMDRIA. EMDRIA requires a minimum of 10 additional hours of individual consultation. You can choose to join only the group, or to purchase a package of either five or 10 hours of individual consultation with Linda in addition to the group. Individual hours will be scheduled with Linda on a flexible timeline that meets each Consultee's needs for practice and pacing.

It's important to note that each recommendation for EMDRIA Certification is based on demonstrated mastery of EMDR's Standard Protocol and the Adaptive Information Processing Model in addition to completion of the required minimum consultation hours.
