3 EMDRIA Credits Program #17019-71

3 CEs from CE-Classes

This is a live, virtual training held via Zoom.

About This Course:

Whether you’re already trained in an EMDR Group protocol or new to the neighborhood, there’s a lot more to learn about EMDR for Groups…and the possibilities might surprise you.

In addition to Early Intervention for crisis and community disaster, the growing field of EMDR Group protocols now addresses a broad range of applications, populations, and situations. It holds enormous potential to change how and where we practice EMDR Therapy.

Group EMDR expands the options for safely working with adults, kids, and even individuals within a variety of treatment settings and time parameters. "Group" interventions can even be used with individual clients. Whether in the field or in the office, they can help therapists maximize resources while managing window of tolerance in clients with acute trauma, complex trauma, and other diagnoses.

In this three-hour presentation, Group EMDR expert Reg Morrow Robinson will first provide an overview of current EMDR Group protocols and derived techniques to acquaint participants with a variety of options and levels of intervention. She will them explain how to include these options within AIP-informed case conceptualization and treatment planning by outlining where and how each protocol and technique fits into the eight phases and three prongs of EMDR Therapy.

Discussion will focus on how to blend EMDR Group with other therapy approaches related to specific diagnoses and situations. By the end of the workshop, participants will better understand when to include Group protocols and techniques within a stepped care approach, and how to choose the appropriate intervention(s) for a variety of symptoms presentations and diagnoses.

Please note that this brief workshop is meant to assist you in understanding options and developing your plan for a group program aimed at the specific population(s) you wish to serve. It will not teach the specific procedural steps of each protocol or provide practicum opportunities. If you are interested in being trained in G-TEP (the Group Traumatic Episode Protocol) you can learn more here.
