• EMDR Group Traumatic Episode Protocol

We are also excited to share information about a new addition to this scalable EMDR-Early Intervention suite: the Group Resource Enhancement Protocol (G-REP).

These 4 protocols and techniques blend seamlessly to meet a range of needs including assessment, stabilization, individual reprocessing, and group reprocessing. No matter what your circumstances are for delivery of therapy, you'll learn where to start and how to progress through multiple treatment options.

The two-day, comprehensive training leads you step by step through research validated protocols for working with survivors of recent trauma both individually and in groups. While EMDR Basic Training provides an overview of one of the recent events protocols, we will shed light on broader applications of how and when to use EMDR and EMDR-derived techniques for early trauma intervention.

• Identify when Early EMDR Intervention is appropriate.
• Compare the EMDR standard protocol and EMDR R-TEP protocol.
• Demonstrate Early EMDR clinical skills with additional measures for containment and safety.
• Describe EMD, EMDr, EMDR and how each is applied.
• Identify key features and concepts for the R-TEP protocol.
• Use key procedures for the R-TPEP protocol.
• Identify key features and concepts of the Group Traumatic Episode Protocol (G-TEP).
• Demonstrate the bilateral movements within the G-TEP protocol utilizing the G-TEP worksheet.
• Use key procedures for the G-TEP protocol.
• Demonstrate the ability to apply the Group Traumatic Episode Protocol (G-TEP) in their clinical practice.
• Evaluate the significance of the G-TEP and Early Intervention.
• Identify resources for further support in the delivery of R-TEP/G-TEP.

The EMDR R-TEP protocol is applied when a recent event has occurred that requires containment and additional assistance with integration beyond the standard protocol. It is a comprehensive approach to treating recent events in the belief that serious trauma symptoms may be prevented by receiving early interventions. The protocol contains built in checks to address stuck points quickly while recognizing the importance of meeting the clients where they are and taking it step by step. The EMDR G-TEP protocol is a group application useful for small groups including couples, families, and those impacted by the same traumatic event, such as a natural disaster or act of violence.

Prerequisite: Participants must have completed EMDR Basic Training with an EMDRIA-approved training provider.

About The Presenter

Reg Morrow Robinson has been a practicing therapist for 30 years. She has worked with crisis over her career, was introduced to EMDR therapy in 1995, became an EMDRIA consultant in 2000 and a basic trainer in 2008. In 2012 she became an EMDR R-TEP/G-TEP trainer. Reg currently serves on the leadership team of the national Community Response Network assisting TRN’s, TRT’s & CRN’s to create & stabilize their organizations. . Reg is passionate about building community capacity to respond to manmade and natural disasters plus applying EMDR in a time efficient manner to anyone impacted by an overwhelming experience.

Location

Please note that this training will be held at Crossroads on the Marine Corps Base at Quantico, VA. Because it is on base, all attendees are required to go through a simple visitor registration process prior to the training, and will pick up a visitor pass at the visitor center the first morning of the training. Information on how to obtain your Visitor Pass will be provided upon registration for the training, however, were are some facts to be aware of in advance:

• The screening process requires that visitors provide authorized source documents to prove identity. 
• Visitors must also pass a criminal history check to ensure they meet access standards (persons with criminal records that do not meet access standards will be denied access). 
• Visitors can go to the visitor control center up to 14 days in advance of the event to complete the screening process. 
• Foreign national visitors must be identified in advance (minimum 4 working days) so that additional screening can be conducted. Additionally, foreign national visitors must be escorted by a person with a DoD credential (CAC or Teslin). 
• To expedite processing time at the visitor control center, visitors can pre-register online. Pre-registration does NOT negate the requirement for visitors to go to the visitor center in person.
